John of Nepomuk Chapel

The Johannes von Nepomuk chapel is a Catholic church in the Steinbüchel / Fettehenne district of Leverkusen .

history

In 1582, a chapel was first mentioned at the site of today's Johannes-von-Nepomuk-Kapelle in Fettehenne. It was dedicated to Saint Anthony with the sow and was canceled around 1700. According to a date in Eisenankern, the current chapel dates from 1737. It was rebuilt thanks to a donation from the widow Katharina Katternbach to the Land Commander of the Teutonic Order, Jobst Mauritz Droste zu Senden . The coat of arms of the Lankomtur is attached to the gable above the entrance. An extension in 1847 increased the chapel on the altar side by 10 meters.
