Johannes Baar-Baarenfels

Johannes Baar-Baarenfels (born August 25, 1963 in Salzburg ) is an Austrian architect .

Life

Baar-Baarenfels studied at the Technical University of Vienna and completed his diploma with Helmut Richter . In 1991 he founded the company Baar-Baarenfels Architekten. He was then a member of the Berlin Chamber of Architects and is currently a member of the Vienna Chamber of Architects. From 2002 to 2008 he was an assistant at the Institute for Architecture and Design at the TU Vienna. He has given lectures in Sofia, Bucharest, Mumbai, Vienna and Timisoara. He had exhibitions in Prague, Bratislava, Ljubljana and Vienna. In 2010 he was nominated for the award of the World Architecture Festival in Barcelona. In 2013 he won the World Architecture Festival Award in Singapore in the “old and new” category. In 2014 he was represented at the Architecture Biennale in Venice.

Johannes Baar-Baarenfels is married and has four children.

Baar-Baarenfels' understanding of architecture is ultimately aimed at social interaction : “That has always been the function of cities: They were a breeding ground for culture and cities must be conceived of in this way again in the future. (Architecture) is not just about economics. " Johannes Baar-Baarenfels has established himself internationally in the field of commercial buildings as well as private houses. Planning and accompanying the entire process is always important to him. This includes preliminary design, draft, submission, polishing planning , detailed planning, visualization , tendering, construction supervision and corporate design . He is a sought-after specialist when it comes to reinterpreting existing and partially listed buildings. Organic forms are particularly important to him.
