Johannes Dobbe

Johannes Dobbe (* in the 15th century; † October 7, 1506 ) was canon in Münster .

Life

Johannes Dobbe came from the family of the Lords of Dobbe, who came into the possession of the house of Lyren after 1445 and remained its owner until it died out in 1793. He was the son of Wilhelm Dobbe and his wife Berta Sobbe. His brother Rotger was canon and, as cathedral scholaster, head of the cathedral school in Münster. His nephew Johann was also a canon in Münster. Johannes completed his studies in Cologne . In 1493, Master Johan Dobbe is documented as a canon in Münster and on June 15, 1496 named as an arbitrator in legal proceedings. The sources do not provide any information about his further life.
