Johannes Hager (lawyer)

John Hager (* 9. July 1951 in Munich ) is a German lawyer and emeritus professors at the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich .

Life

From 1970 Hager studied economics and law . He finished his legal studies in 1975 with the first state examination in law. He passed his second state examination in 1978. He then devoted himself to his doctorate, which he completed in 1981 under Claus-Wilhelm Canaris at the University of Munich . Hager also completed his habilitation process in 1988 at Canaris in Munich, with which he received the venia legendi for subjects such as civil law and civil procedural law.

From 1989 Hager was a professor at the University of Eichstätt-Ingolstadt , and in 1992 he moved to the Humboldt University in Berlin . In 2002 he accepted a professorship from the University of Munich for civil law and media law, which he held until his release in 2017.
