Johannes Lepper

Johannes Lepper (* 1960 in Ratingen ) is a German theater director .

Live and act

After training as a stone sculptor in 1979, he began training as an actor at the Westphalian Drama School in Bochum in 1984 . From 1987 he got his first engagements as an actor at the Schauspiel Bonn, Theater Dortmund and the Junge Theater Göttingen . From 1993 to 1994 he was assistant director at Theater Oberhausen a . a. with Klaus Weise and Stephan Kimmig. During this time he staged " Nothing Special, a short evening with Andy Warhol and Franz Kafka " in the Malersaal Theater Oberhausen in 1993 and in 1994 " People's Destruction or My Liver Is Pointless " by Werner Schwab at the Göttingen Boys' Theater.

From 1994 he worked as a director, in Göttingen “ The Threepenny Opera ” by Brecht / Weil, in Oberhausen “ Die Räuber ” by Friedrich Schiller (awarded the Oberhausen Theater Prize), in Koblenz “The Soldiers” by Jacob Michael Reinhold Lenz and in Berlin on Maxim Gorki Theater “The cat on a hot tin roof”. From 1999 to 2003 he was the director of the Schlosstheater Moers and then until 2008 director of the Theater Oberhausen. Since 2008 he has been working as a freelance director again at the Staatstheater Karlsruhe , the Schauspiel Bonn, the Konzert Theater Bern, the Theater Ingolstadt, the Schauspiel Dortmund and the Duisburger Akzent. In 2011 he held a practical seminar at the Ruhr University Bochum in collaboration with Guido Hiß on Kurt Schwitters and DADA. Johannes Lepper is married and has one son.
