Johannes Liebrecht

Johannes Liebrecht (* 1970 ) is a German legal scholar .

Life

From 1993 to 2000 he studied in Freiburg im Breisgau with Karl Kroeschell and Ernst-Wolfgang Böckenförde . After taking his first state examination in law and assisting Ernst-Wolfgang Böckenförde in 2001, he was a research assistant at the Max Planck Institute for Comparative and International Private Law from 2007 to 2013 . After completing his doctorate in 2013 at the University of Regensburg under Reinhard Zimmermann , he was a research assistant at the Max Planck Institute for Comparative and International Private Law from 2013 to 2019. After his habilitation in 2018 at the Bucerius Law School , venia legendi for civil law, German and European legal history, he represented the chair for civil law, competition and intellectual property law, media and information law at the University of Göttingen in the 2018/2019 winter semester . Since 2019 he has held the professorship for legal history at the University of Zurich .

His main research interests are private law, legal history and legal theory.
