Johannes Ludovici

Johannes Ludovici , actually Johannes Hofmann (* in Würzburg ; † 1480 ), was the ducal Bavarian councilor and auxiliary bishop of Regensburg . In 1472 Ludovici was the first professor at the theological faculty of the newly founded University of Ingolstadt .

Life

Johannes Ludovici studied in Vienna and was prefect of studies there in 1461 . At Windsheim he entered the Augustinian order . On August 8, 1464, Johannes Ludovidi was ordained auxiliary bishop of Regensburg. Later he was councilor of the Bavarian Duke Ludwig IX. of the rich . From March 1472 he took over the first theological professorship at the newly created University of Ingolstadt. In addition, Ludovici took over the Dean's office during his professorship.
