Johannes Mondschein (* 1859 ; † 1909 ) was a Bavarian teacher and local researcher .
From 1881 until his death in 1909 he was director of the secondary school in Straubing . In 1898 he was co-founder and from 1902 to 1908 chairman of the historical association for Straubing. He undertook excavations in the Roman Straubing ( Sorviodurum ) and published on the medieval local history.
