Johannes Schön

Johannes Schön (born December 14, 1867 in Erbach (Homburg) ; † November 5, 1915 in Pirmasens ) was a German machine manufacturer and leather wholesaler. Johannes Schön founded the Johannes Schön OHG, which later became the Schön company.

Life

Johannes Schön was born the son of a tailor in Erbach (Homburg) . On August 22nd, 1890, Johannes Schön married Berta geb. Adolf, daughter of the Pirmasens factory owner Jakob Adolf, in Pirmasens. Two sons came from this marriage: Hans Schön, who will take over the machine factory and the company, and Richard Schön.

Entrepreneur

Johannes Schön initially acted as a leather wholesaler, then from 1910 also as a machine manufacturer. Johannes Schön and the engineer Max Grune laid the foundation stone for the Schön company with the establishment of Johannes Schön OHG on October 1, 1910. The company Schön or Schön & Cie GmbH , from 1990 Schön & Cie AG, was one of the most important shoe and punching machine manufacturers (for non-metallic materials). In 1972 Schön & Cie GmbH employed around 750 people and was represented by subsidiaries in the USA, France, Switzerland, Austria and Hungary. Schön & Cie Ag can be seen as one of the predecessor companies of Schoen + sandt machinery .
