The beautiful + sandt machinery GmbH is a medium-sized German engineering company with headquarters in Pirmasens in Rhineland-Palatinate . The company has been developing and producing punching machines for non-metallic materials for around 150 years . Another product is machines for the production of security paper , in particular bank notes . In addition, schoen + sandt maintains a spare parts and customer service for commissioning, maintenance and repair of the machines. Today, the company says it employs around 220 people and has three subsidiaries in Pirmasens, Eger (Hungary) and Boston (USA).

history

Jakob Sandt founded the Sandt company in 1867 to manufacture punching machines, shoe machines and tools for the shoe industry. In 1910 Johannes Schön and Max Grund founded the company "Schön", a manufacturer of shoe machines. The Sandt company introduced the first hydraulic drive, pump and control systems in 1930. The customers expand to the automotive and automotive supplier industries. The first Schön punching machine with a swivel arm was launched in 1950. The entire share capital of J. Sandt AG was acquired in 1996 by the machine factory Schön & Cie. AG was taken over and the name was changed to Schön & Sandt AG. Schön & Cie Aktiengesellschaft was a listed company from 1990 to 2006. On December 6, 2012, the stock exchange listing was discontinued. In 1967 Schön signed a cooperation with the Hungarian company KAEV. Most private investors invested in Schoen + Sandt Maschinenbau GmbH in 2007 and merged them with Leiner Stanztechnik GmbH and TSM company. Since then, the expanded company has been called "schoen + sandt machinery GmbH". In 2017, schoen + sandt machinery GmbH and a Swiss industrial holding entered into a strategic partnership to jointly implement the internationalization strategy.

  • Punching machines for flat parts made of various non-metallic materials for the textile, packaging, plastics, automotive, abrasives and flooring industries, among others
  • Machines for the production of security paper. This technology originally comes from the punching machine. schoen + sandt equips security paper companies around the world with systems for the production of the screens. Several worldwide patents have been registered in this division.
  • Production of toe and heel lasting machines, especially for the manufacture of footwear, e.g. B. for hiking boots and safety shoes.
