Johannes Schaefer

Johannes Schaefer (born July 20, 1963 in Bad Cannstatt ) is a German singer, actor, speaker, director and singing teacher. He lives and works in Hamburg.

Live and act

After graduating from a university of applied sciences, Schaefer trained as a bricklayer at the Free Waldorf School in Reutlingen and then studied social pedagogy in Hamburg. He began his artistic career in 1993 with the training in "Singing and Movement" at the Monsun School in Hamburg and in 1995 he switched to KUNSTWERK e. V. in the further training "3 ways of expression - song, dance and acting". He took lessons from Frank Curtis (musical), Gilles Petit (modal singing), Iris Moore (jazz), Juri Vasiljev (voice), Thomas Niese (rhythm), YANCI (pantomime), Susanne Christmann and Adam Breadpiece (free movement). He studied for two years at the Hamburg Music Seminar with Holger Lampson (classical singing) and Michael Hartenberg (choral conducting). He then completed an acting training first at the Michael Chekhov Studio Berlin , then at the Hamburg School for Speech and Dramatic Art, which he completed in 2003 with the stage maturity test.

He works as an actor, speaker, director and musical director in theater productions (including "Elfen im Park", Theater Mignon, Theater ik's, HefE - Hamburg's simple independent ensemble, radio play productions, short films, own productions) and lecturer for singing, acting and movement .

In 1996 he founded the "Chansonerie - School for Stage Singing, Music and Drama" in Hamburg. Since 2008 he has been running the Abraxas Singing School. His singing lessons are characterized by a holistic and empathetic approach. He teaches rhythms based on TaKeTiNa . Voice training and voice training is done through mindful practice, including singing ragas based on the tones of the Indian tone scale: sa-re-ga-ma-pa-da-ni.

In 2014 he played an episode role in the crime series " SOKO Wismar ". Johannes Schaefer directed a number of smaller theater productions. In 2016 he brought the world premiere of the play "The Maiden Voyage - Arm in Arm, Living and Dying on the Titanic" by Otto Junggeburth on stage. The theater performance production was financed as a crowdfunding project.
