Johannes Schnocks

Johannes Schnocks (* 1967 in Hilden ) is a Roman Catholic theologian and professor at the University of Münster.

Life

Schnocks studied Catholic theology in Bonn and Jerusalem from 1989 to 1995 . In 2002, he was at the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms University in Bonn to Dr. theol. PhD. The work was supervised by Frank-Lothar Hossfeld and Heinz-Josef Fabry .

Since 2012 he has been professor for contemporary and religious history of the Old Testament at the Westphalian Wilhelms University in Münster.

Johannes Schnocks' research focus is on researching and commenting on the books Psalms, Job and 2 Maccabees as well as on work on violence and overcoming violence in Old Testament texts and their reception.
