Johannes Schreiber (theologian)

Johannes Schreiber (born December 11, 1927 in Gahlen ; † April 28, 2016 in Bochum ) was a German Protestant theologian and author.

Schreiber attended school in Lintorf and Ratingen . From 1947 to 1952 he studied Protestant theology at the Kirchliche Hochschule Wuppertal and at the universities of Tübingen and Bonn. From 1957 to 1963 he was a teacher and pastor in Bayreuth . A study of the crucifixion report of Mark he received his doctorate in 1960 at the University of Bonn to Dr. theol. From 1966 to 1994 he was professor for practical theology at the University of Bochum . One of his main research interests was the historical-critical exegesis of the New Testament. He was married, had a daughter and lived in Bochum-Stiepel .
