Johannes Theodor von Witzleben
Johannes Theodor Karl Dittlev (von) Witzleben (born June 30, 1831 in Nyborg , † May 19, 1879 in Copenhagen ) was a Danish actor of German descent.
He came from the Thuringian noble family von Witzleben and was the son of the Danish customs and general manager Friedrich von Witzleben [Danish: Frederik Witzleben] (1798-1865) and Adamine Drastrup. Witzleben worked as an actor at the Det Kongelige Teater in Copenhagen until his untimely death . He also appeared in a Danish-language version of the play De Unges Forbund (German: Der Bund der Jugend ) by Henrik Ibsen as Boktrykker Aslaksen with his wife Bentine as Madam Rundholmen in the Malmö Teater and Mindre Teatern Göteborg.
Witzleben married Maria Bentine Christensen (* 1834) from Copenhagen on April 17, 1854 in Frederiksberg . Since the couple had no children and his brother Friedrich Emil died of the wounds received at the Düppeler Schanzen in the German-Danish War in 1864, this branch of the family, von Witzleben, died out.
