Johannes Vleugels
Johannes Vleugels (* 1899 in Aachen ; † 1978 in Buchen (Odenwald) ) was a German composer as well as a music teacher and musicologist.
Johannes Vleugels was a music historian with a doctorate who worked in Buchen from 1961 to 1978. The “Vleugels Music Collection” he founded in the Buchen District Museum includes keyboard and wind instruments from three centuries. This includes musicological and music theoretical literature, a collection of over 2000 copies of music from early parchment manuscripts to rare early and first editions, as well as his own compositions.
