Johannes Wilkes

Johannes Wilkes (* 1961 in Dortmund ) is a German writer.

Wilkes studied medicine in Munich and has lived in Erlangen for over 25 years . He runs a psychiatric practice there, with a focus on child psychology.

His work includes popular science non-fiction books, travel guides and several crime novel series.

The travel guides are often more travel reports with personal descriptions than reference works.

The crime novels are mainly divided into Spiekeroog crime novels, Franconian crime novels and Erlangen crime novels. Recurring characters in many of the thrillers are the gay couple Kommissar Mütze and the theater employee Karl-Dieter.

He published, among others: The Aldi-Equator , Nuremberg for the curious , instructions for use for Erlangen and Fürth ist sexy as well as the ars vivendi publishing house Das kleine Franken-Buch (2014), Der Fall Rückert (2016) and Mord am Walberla (2018).

Wilkes has won several literary prizes, including the runner-up of the Godesberg Literature Prize 2015. He is a member of the Theodor Fontane Society .
