Johannes Wipplinger
Johannes Wipplinger (born August 1, 1978 in Wels ) is an Austrian athlete and bobsleigh athlete .
Hannes Wipplinger has been involved in bobsleigh since 2004 and has been a member of the Austrian national team since then. The student starts for the Teigl team . He started out in international competitions in Jürgen Loacker's bobsleigh since 2004 . It was not until the 2006 four-man bobsleigh race in Park City that Wipplinger achieved eighth place for the first time and was among the top ten. He caused a sensation in the media at the European Championships in Cortina d'Ampezzo in January 2007, where he had problems getting into the four-man bobsleigh and backed to the finish in third position. For the 2007/08 season , Wipplinger moved to Wolfgang Stampfer's team , with whom he achieved his best result to date in the two-man bobsleigh World Cup in Park City in December 2007 as third-placed.
As a track and field athlete, Wipplinger competes as a decathlete and was fifth in the Austrian championships in 2005. Here he starts for the ATSV Linz .
