Johannes Bridge

The Johannesbrücke ( Russian Иоанновский мост ) over the Kronwerk Canal in Saint Petersburg is the oldest bridge in the city. It is located in the Petrograd Rajon of St. Petersburg and connects the Petrograd Island with the Rabbit Island . It was built on the site of the first bridge in St. Petersburg. A wooden bridge was built from 1738 to 1740 to replace a floating bridge that had been in use up until then. The bridge has been restored several times over the years, most recently in 2003.
