The Johannisschule was a school in Osnabrück that had operated for more than a millennium . At the beginning of the 21st century, the primary school was stopped in favor of its successor in the same building, the Three Religions School .

history

The school was founded in 1011 and was for a time a Catholic denominational school.

A building from 1903 was later replaced by a new building, which in the 21st century was still a sign of a sandstone block above the main entrance. The lettering Johannisschule, whose letter “o” had been replaced by a ladybird , was last found on the building's window front facing Süsterstrasse.

Around the turn of the millennium, the pilot project “Europe-Class German-Italian in Osnabrück” began, for which the Italian-born teacher - and writer - Giuseppe Scigliano developed numerous teaching materials between 2000 and 2006.

The St. John's School, at which up to 200 students were taught by 24 teachers at times, had 25 students shortly before it was closed, and they were taught by the last two teachers Rosemarie Mithöfer and Cornelia Wittenbrock.
