John Bailey (farmer)

John Bailey (* 1750 ; † 1819 ) was a Scottish farmer. Towards the end of the 18th century he built the first plow based on mathematical principles, which was also introduced in Germany by Albrecht Daniel Thaer . His writing The Best Possible Plow from 1805 was one of the main foundations of agricultural mechanics in the 19th century.
