John Barber (inventor)
John Barber (* 1734 in Nottinghamshire ; † 1801 ) was an English inventor.
He went to Nuneaton in the 1760s to run coal mines. He later lived in Attleborough . Between 1766 and 1792 he patented several inventions, the most notable of which was the gas turbine in 1791 . Although it could not be realized, he described the principle in detail.
