John Benton (born June 23, 1969 in Afton , Minnesota ) is an American curler . At the moment (as of 2009) he is playing the lead position at the Duluth Curling Club in Duluth .

Benton won the US Olympic Curling Trails on February 28, 2009 with the team of Skip John Shuster , Third Jason Smith , Second Jeff Isaacson , Alternate Chris Plys and played with this team at the XXI. Winter Olympics in curling. The team could not convince and finished last with only two wins and seven defeats.
