John Buehrens

John A. Buehrens (born June 29, 1947 ) is an American pastor of the Unitarian Universalist Association and author .

Buehrens studied at Harvard College and Harvard Divinity School . In 1993 Buehrens was elected President of the Unitarian Universalist Association (UUA) in the United States and remained President of the UUA until 2001. He served as a pastor in Needham , Massachusetts . After ordination in 1973, he served in parishes in Tennessee , Texas, and New York City . He wrote several books.
