John Davies (Bishop)
John Davies (born February 6, 1953 in Newport , Wales ) is an Anglican British Archbishop of the Church in Wales .
Life
Davies attended Bassaleg Grammar School . He then studied law at the University of Southampton and initially worked as a lawyer in Wales. From 1982 he studied Anglican theology at St. Michael's College in Llandaff and at the University of Wales . He was ordained an Anglican Deacon in 1984 and an Anglican Priest in 1985. From 2000 to 2008 he was Dean of Brecon. Davies has been Bishop of Brecon and Swansea since 2008. In 2017, Davies was elected Archbishop of the Church in Wales to succeed Barry Morgan .
Davies is married and has two children.
