John F. Burke

John Francis Burke (born July 22, 1922 in Peoria , Illinois , † November 2, 2011 in Lexington , Massachusetts ) was an American medic .

Life

Burke researched and taught as a professor at Harvard University . Together with Ioannis Yannas, he developed the world's first synthetic skin that is used on burn victims. Burke was married and had two children.
