John Favre

John Favre (born May 13, 1911 in La Chaux-de-Fonds , † May 3, 1983 in Bern ) was a member of the management of the Swiss Federal Railways . He was entitled to live in Le Locle and belonged to the Social Democratic Party .

Life

Favre studied law at the University of Neuchâtel and began working as a director's secretary at SBB District Directorate I in Lausanne . From 1942 to 1950 he was the deputy head of the legal department of the SBB general management in Bern. In 1950/51 he was district director in Lausanne. As General Director of SBB, he headed the Department of Commercial and Legal Affairs from 1951 to 1970. In 1970 he took up the post of General Director at the Central Office for International Rail Traffic.
