John Linnell
John Linnell (born June 12, 1959 in New York City ), full name John Sidney Linnell , is an American musician. He often appears under other names (e.g. Johnny Hart or John Sid ).

Linnell forms the band They Might Be Giants with John Flansburgh . Linnell is often referred to as the introverted John.
Before founding They Might Be Giants , he played for a very short time in the early 1980s with the bands “The Mundanes” and “The Bags” .
He sustained a complicated fracture in his right hand during a bicycle race in 1996 that forced the band They Might Be Giants to take a break for nearly two years. He later wrote a song about this accident ( “South Carolina” ), which was published on his only solo album to date ( “State Songs” ).
