John Lubbock, 3rd Baron Avebury (born May 13, 1915 - June 21, 1971 ) was a British peer and politician .

life and career

Lubbock was born on May 13, 1915 to Harold Lubbock and Dorothy Forster. He attended Eton College and then studied at Balliol College at the University of Oxford .

On March 26, 1929, he inherited his uncle's title. Lubbock died on June 21, 1971 at the age of 56 without male offspring. He was succeeded as Baron Avebury by his cousin Eric Lubbock .

family

Lubbock was married three times. From February 24, 1938 until his divorce in 1943, he was first married to Cecily Sparrow, the daughter of Dr. Nathaniel Sparrow married. On July 31, 1946, he married Diana Westcott. They divorced in 1955. The marriage resulted in a daughter, Emma Rachel Lubbock (* 1952), who married Michael Page in 1977 and has two daughters. Lubbock married Betty Ingham on December 22, 1955.

His sister Moyra was married to show host Dorian Williams .

Lubbock's grandfather was the eminent anthropologist John Lubbock, 1st Baron Avebury .
