John Menzies Low

Sir John Menzies Low CBE CEng (born 1953 ) is a British politician and an independent member of the House of Lords Appointments Commission .

Life

Low is the chief executive of the Charities Aid Foundation (CAF) and chair of the Association of Chief Executives of Voluntary Organizations (ACEVO).

In 2008 he was honored by Queen Elizabeth II in the Queen's Birthday Honors for his charitable work as Commander of the Order of the British Empire . On November 16, 2017, she ennobled him as a Knight Bachelor .
