John P. Bodel
John Putnam Bodel (* 1957 in Lakeville ) is an American ancient historian.
Life
He earned his BA in 1978 at Princeton University , 1979 MA at the University of Michigan and in 1984 at John D'Arms to Ph.D. at the University of Michigan (Dissertation: Freedmen in the Satyricon of Petronius). He taught at Brown University (since 2003 W. Duncan MacMillan II Professor of Classics, since 2009 Professor of Classics and Professor of History), at Rutgers University (Professor of Classics: 1997–2002, Associate Professor of Classics: 1993–1997 ) and at Harvard University (Associate Professor of the Classics: 1989–1992 Assistant Professor of the Classics: 1984–1989).
