John Roger Arnold

John Roger Arnold (* 1769 in London ; † 1843 ) was an English watchmaker.

John Roger began his apprenticeship with his father, the watchmaker John Arnold , and continued his training with his befriended watchmaker Abraham Louis Breguet . In 1787 he joined his father's company as a partner, which was now called John Arnold & Son . His specialties were marine and pocket chronometers. In 1796 he became a master at the Clockmakers Company . In 1821 he received a patent for a compensation balance. From 1830 to 1840 he was a partner of Edward John Dent at Arnold & Dent . After his death, Charles Frodsham (1810–1871) took over the John Arnold & Co company in 84 Strand, London.
