Johnson Wagner (born March 23, 1980 in Amarillo , Texas ) is an American professional golfer and participant of the PGA TOUR .

Career

After attending Virginia Tech , Wagner became a professional golfer in 2002. On his debut as a professional, he won the Metropolitan Open at Winged Foot Golf Club , which he had won the previous year - still as an amateur. From 2003 Wagner played the Nationwide Tour . With a second place in the 2006 season, he qualified for the PGA TOUR . In April 2008 he won the Shell Houston Open and was invited to the Masters 2008.

In 2010, Wagner finished 126th on the PGA Tour and barely missed full eligibility to play. On February 27, 2011 he won the Mayakoba Golf Classic at Riviera Maya-Cancun in the playoff against Spencer Levin and received his tour card back until 2013.
