The Johnstone Head is a headland of McDonald Island in the southern Indian Ocean . It marks the southeast boundary of the entrance to Cauldron Bay .
The headland is named after the biologist Gavin W. Johnstone, scientist leader of a campaign of the Australian National Antarctic Research Expeditions in 1980, who carried out extensive investigations of the McDonald Islands .
