Jolanda van Meggelen (* in the 20th century) is a former Dutch judoka . In 1980 she was third in the world championships.

Athletic career

Jolanda van Meggelen competed in the light heavyweight division, the weight class up to 72 kilograms. In this weight class she was Dutch champion in 1979 and 1981, in 1980 she was second behind Anita van Bonn .

At the 1980 World Championships in New York City, the first ever women's world championships in judo, she defeated the Brazilian Helena Guimarães in the first round and the Australian Daniels in the quarter-finals. In the semifinals she was defeated by the German Barbara Claßen , with a victory against the Italian Cristina Fiorentini , Jolanda van Meggelen won a bronze medal.

In 1982 she entered the open class at the European Championships in Oslo, she lost to the Austrian Edith Simon in the final and received the silver medal. Six weeks after the European Championships, she won the light heavyweight division at the open Belgian championships in Arlon and took third place in the open class. At the 1982 World Championships in Paris, Jolanda van Meggelen won her opening match against the Portuguese Maria Emilia Lobo and in the quarterfinals against the Japanese Kaori Suzuki . After her semi-final defeat against Belgian Ingrid Berghmans , she also lost the battle for a bronze medal against French Jocelyne Triadou and finished in fifth place. In 1983 she won the light heavyweight division again at the Belgian Open Championships.
