The dragon child Jolinchen is a character from the AOK health insurance company and has been used in customer communication for children between the ages of zero and twelve since 1985. history

AOK's children's communication has been managed by the wdv group since the 1980s and for 35 years primarily by Gabriele Wolff-Starck. The dragon child was initially drawn by the children's book graphic artist Dietrich Lange (also illustrator of the 1986 Game of the YearHeimlich & Co. ”), and since 2000 by the graphic artist Stefan Müller. At the start, there were integrated children's pages in the AOK magazine bleibgesund , which were further developed in 1985 into the independent AOK children's magazine jojo . It was published six times a year until 2019. Since 2020 the AOK children's magazine has been produced by Heinrich Bauer Verlag / Serviceplan under the title "Jolinchen". It is enclosed with the AOK health magazine, which is sent out every quarter to families with children between the ages of four and ten and is displayed in all branches of the health insurance fund. Carrier booklet and insert are thematically coordinated. The AOK children's magazine is recommended by the Reading Foundation .

Jolinchen is a gender-neutral dragon child who teaches health in a playful way. The focus is on nutrition, exercise and relaxation topics. Jolinchen is positive, happy and curious. It discovers, tries and is supposed to convey health literacy. Jolinen's best friend and interactive communication partner has been a terrier named Zausi since 2020.

For children of all ages

Jolinchen are available in two versions or age groups. In addition to the basic figure, the school child Jolinchen (in the body proportions of an 8 to 10-year-old child), a younger Jolinchen was developed in 2014, with which kindergarten children can identify better. So Jolinchen grows with the children. This increases the acceptance and credibility of the character.
