Jonas-Philipp Dallmann's short stories , written in a slow, mostly detailed language, play with the perception of reality and make use of disturbing surreal images. The focus is mostly on isolated individuals in lonely places such as demolished houses, high-rise apartments or shabby suburban villas. His debut novel Notschek , published in 2011 by Luftschacht in Vienna, expands an apparently intimate chamber play between three characters into an oppressive dystopia that cites the totalitarianisms of the 20th century.
