Jonas Aleksa

Jonas Aleksa (born February 23, 1939 in Telšiai ; † October 17, 2005 in Lithuania ) was a Lithuanian conductor and music teacher.

Life

From 1949 to 1956 studied at the 10-year music school in Vilnius . From 1956 to 1961 he studied at Lietuvos valstybinė konservatorija (with Doz. Antanas Budriūnas ) and received Tchaikovsky's scholarship . From 1962 to 1965 he studied in the aspirantur in Leningrad . From 1968 he taught at the LMTA , from 1986 as a lecturer, from 1996 as a professor .
