Ignaz Theodor Liborius Meyer Prize

The Ignaz-Theodor-Liborius-Meyer-Preis honors young scientists who are active in the field of Westphalian regional history and who have performed outstandingly there. The prize is endowed with 2,500 euros and has been awarded annually since 1991 by the Association for the History and Antiquity of Westphalia, Dept. Paderborn . In line with the focus of the association's work, work on the history of East and South Westphalia is particularly honored. The prize is named after the cathedral capitular, archivist and historian Ignaz Theodor Liborius Meyer (1773–1843), the main initiator and first chairman of the Association for the History and Archeology of Westphalia.

The Ignaz-Theodor-Liborius-Meyer-Preis is one of the most important awards in the field of the Westphalian-Lippe regional history. Other awards include the Karl Zuhorn Prize , the Gustav Engel Prize , the Otto Weerth Prize , the Jodocus Hermann Nünning Prize and the History Prize of the Mindener Geschichtsverein .
