Jonas Rimantas Klimas

Jonas Rimantas Klimas (born April 21, 1939 in Užsieniai , Ignalina Rajongemeinde ) is a Lithuanian forester and former politician . From 1992 to 1993 he was Lithuania's Minister of Forestry .

Life

After graduating from the Kazitiškis School in 1953 , he graduated from the Vilnius Forest Technology Center in 1958 and from the Lietuvos žemės ūkio akademija in 1963 . From 1963 to 1965 he served in the Soviet Army. From 1966 to 1974 he was an engineer at the Ukmergė Forestry Department , from 1974 to 1978 director of the Nemenčinė Forestry Department and from 1978 to 1990 the General Director of the Vilnius Forestry Industry Association . From 1992 to 1993 he was briefly Lithuania's Minister of Forestry . Since 1997 he has been working as deputy forester in Vilnius.

He and his wife Genovaitė have the son Arūnas and the daughter Rūta.
