Jonas Sidabras

Jonas Sidabras (born December 30, 1968 in Vilnius ) is a Lithuanian sports official, chess trainer and vice-president of the Chess Federation of Lithuania and former association president (2010-2011).

Life

In 1992 Sidabras graduated from the Central Institute for Physical Culture in Moscow ( Russia ). From 1992 he worked as a trainer at Vilniaus miesto šachmatų ir šaškių sporto mokykla . Sidabras is also a chess manager and is president of the sports and arts club "Juoda - Balta" in Rasos (Vilnius). In 1997 he received the FIDE title of International Arbiter (IA) . In March 2010, Sidabras was elected President by the General Assembly of the Chess Federation of Lithuania. He headed the association until June 2011. In 2013 he became an international organizer and in 2014 a FIDE trainer . The players he coached include International Master Kęstutis Labeckas , FIDE Master S. Žičkus, T. Vedrickas and D. Batkovskytė.

He has been a council member since June 4, 2013 and vice-president of the Lithuanian Chess Federation since June 28, 2015.
