Jonas Valatka
Jonas Valatka (born April 1, 1949 in Sokonys , Prienai district ) is a Lithuanian politician.
Life
In 1967 Valatka graduated from the Kaunas Polytechnic , in 1973 the mechanical engineering degree at the Politechnikos institutas in Kaunas and became an engineer . From 1973 to 1978 he was a teacher in the vocational school. From 1978 to 1996 he worked as an engineer in project planning, then as a director in the company UAB "Kontūras" and from 2002 to 2009 at the state company VĮ "Lietuvos monetų kalykla" in Vilnius . From 1995 to 1997 he was a member of the Vilnius City Council , and from 1996 to 2000 of the State Parliament ( Seimas ).
From 1989 to 1999 Valatka was a member of the Lietuvos socialdemokratų partija , from 1999 of the "Socialdemokratija 2000" .
