history

The village was mentioned in writing for the first time in 1476, at that time it was part of the aristocratic republic of Poland in the Ruthenian Voivodeship and then belonged to Austrian Galicia from 1774 to 1918 (within the Złoczow district ). In the middle of the 17th century the place had about 100 inhabitants.

Due to the construction of the railway lines to Brody and Tarnopol , the importance of the place grew strongly from 1869, north of the town center a train station and the branch of the railway line to Tarnopol were built . In 1912 a narrow-gauge freight railway was added in a northerly direction to connect the brewery in Busk and to transport timber from Hrabowa , but this line was dismantled after the Second World War .

During the First World War the place was occupied by Russian troops for 8 weeks in 1915, on August 15th the Austrians recaptured the place. In his novel Die Kapuzinergruft , Joseph Roth referred to the military conflicts surrounding Krasne.

After the end of the First World War, the place became part of Poland (in the Lemberg Voivodeship ), was briefly occupied by the Soviet Union during World War II and then by Germany until July 18, 1944 .

After the end of the Second World War, the city was added to the Soviet Union , there the city came to the Ukrainian SSR and has been part of today's Ukraine since 1991. In 1953 the town was granted the status of an urban-type settlement , and since 2001 the town has had a coat of arms.
