Schklo ( Ukrainian and Russian Шкло ; Polish Szkło ) is an urban-type settlement in Jaworiw Raion of Lviv Oblast in western Ukraine .
The settlement is located about 50 kilometers northwest of Lviv and about 10 kilometers east of the Rajons capital Jaworiw on the Schklo river. In addition to Schklo, the settlement council also includes the 2 villages Solyhy (Солиги) and Stadnyky (Стадники).
history
The place was mentioned in writing for the first time in 1360 and was initially in Poland , came to Austrian Galicia in 1772 as Szkło (was incorporated into the Jaworów district here from 1867 ) and was part of the Polish Republic from 1918 to 1939 (in the powiat Jaworów, Lviv Voivodeship ). After the end of the Second World War , the place fell to the Soviet Union, since 1991 it has been part of today's Ukraine. In 1969 the village, now called Schklo, was given the status of an urban-type settlement.
