Nemyriw (Ukrainian Немирів ; Russian Немиров / Nemirow , Polish Niemirów ) is an urban-type in Western Ukraine. It is located about 52 kilometers northwest of the oblast capital Lviv and 22 kilometers southwest of the city of Rawa-Ruska on the river Smerdych (Смердих). The border with Poland runs about 7 kilometers northwest of the settlement, the settlement municipality include the villages Velyki Makary (Великі Макари), Volya (Воля) Ruda (Руда) Salaschi (Салаші) Seredyna (Середина) Slobodjaky (Слободяки) and Shawari (Шаварі).
history
The place was mentioned for the first time in 1530, belonged to Austrian Galicia from 1774 to 1918 and was the seat of a district administration from 1854 to 1867 , after which the seat of a district court of the Rawa Ruska district was established in the place. After the end of the First World War, the place became part of Poland , was occupied by Germany from September 1939 to 1944 during World War II and came to the Soviet Union after the end of the war . Since 1991 the place belongs to Ukraine .
In the 19th century, due to the mineral springs around the place, a health resort developed which still distinguishes the settlement as a health resort today.
