Daschawa (Ukrainian and Russian Дашава ; Polish Daszawa ) is an urban-type settlement in Rajon Stryj of Lviv Oblast in western Ukraine .
Daschawa is 63 kilometers south of Lviv and 11 kilometers east of the district capital of Stryj , and the settlement council of the same name also includes the three villages Hajduchyna (Гайдучина), Oleksytschi and Shchaslywe ( Щасливе ). To the northwest of the village lies the Bereschnytsja River ( Бережниця ).
The place was mentioned in writing for the first time in 1448 and received Magdeburg city rights in 1523 . Until 1918 the place was in the Austrian Galicia , then it came to Poland until 1939 (Powiat Stryj in the Stanislau Voivodeship ) and has been part of today's Ukraine since 1945. In 1948 the place was given urban-type settlement status.
At the beginning of the 20th century, natural gas deposits were discovered near the place and these are transported to Kiev through natural gas pipelines.
