Sapytiw (Ukrainian Запитів ; Russian Запытов / Sapytow , Polish Zapytów ) is an urban-type settlement in the Kamjanka-Buska district of Lviv Oblast in western Ukraine .
The settlement is about 17 kilometers northeast of Lviv and about 30 kilometers southwest of the district capital Kamjanka-Buska on the Mlynivka river.
history
The place was initially in Poland , came in 1772 as Zapytów to Austrian Galicia and was part of the Polish Republic from 1918 to 1939 (in the Powiat Lwów, Lemberg Voivodeship ). After the end of the Second World War , the place fell to the Soviet Union, since 1991 it has been part of today's Ukraine. In 1987 the village, now called Sapytow / Sapytiw, received the status of an urban-type settlement.
