history
The place was mentioned in writing for the first time in 1366 and was then in the aristocratic republic of Poland in the Ruthenian Voivodeship . It was devastated several times by Tatar invasions in the 17th century. The place belonged from 1774 to 1918 as Łopatyn to the Austrian Galicia and from 1854 to 1867 was the seat of a district administration , then it was added to the district of Brody , at the same time it came to the establishment of a district court.
After the end of the First World War, the place became part of Poland (in the Tarnopol Voivodeship ), was briefly occupied by the Soviet Union during World War II and then by Germany until 1944. A tractor factory was built in the village in 1940 under Soviet administration.
After the end of the war, the city was added to the Soviet Union , where the city came to the Ukrainian SSR and has been part of today's Ukraine since 1991. Since 1956 the place has been an urban-type settlement .
