Dobrotwir (Ukrainian Добротвір ; Russian Добротвор / Dobrotwor , Polish Dobrotwór ) is an urban-type settlement in Rajon Kamianka-Buska of Lviv Oblast in western Ukraine .

Power plant in place

The settlement is 50 kilometers north-east of Lviv and 13 kilometers north of the district capital Kamjanka-Buska on the Bug .

The place was founded in 1951 near the eponymous place Staryj Dobrotwir (Старий Добротвір) by building a thermal power station. The power plant was put into operation in 1956, and since 1959 Dobrotwir has had the status of an urban-type settlement. The power plant, which is mainly powered by gas and coal, supplies most of its energy to Poland .
