The place was mentioned in writing for the first time in 1320 and received Magdeburg town charter in 1520 . The place belonged from 1774 to 1918 as Krakowiec to the Austrian Galicia and from 1854 to 1867 seat of a district administration , afterwards a district court of the district Jaworów was established.
