Hirnyk (Ukrainian Гірник ; Russian Горняк / Gornjak ) is an urban-type settlement in the city district of Chervonohrad of Lviv Oblast in western Ukraine . The Ukrainian word means "miner".

The settlement is located 61 kilometers north of Lviv on the Rata River.

The place was founded in 1954 for the workers of a newly created coal mine (today Shakhta Widrodschennja / Шахта "Відродження") and was initially called Hrjadoju (Грядою), in 1956 it was finally given the status of an urban-type settlement and at the same time the name on Gornjak or Gornjak. Ukrainian Hirnyk changed.
